Behind The Candelabra....

I have been very busy lately, however thought tonight would be a good time to write a blog!

There is a lot of things going on at the moment...  The AEG vs Jackson trial - the Klein arrested and not arrested news, the astonishment when a "certain someone" take the 5th all while complaining that he wants to be heard.... All this crap and keeping up with regular life events is exhausting sometimes.

I thought tonight was a good chance to just enjoy myself and be with friends and family.  For those of you who do not know, tonight was the premier of the HBO movie, "Behind The Candelabra" about the life of Liberace.

I have always been a Liberace fan as I am also a pianist - something which is starting to take a bigger role in my life.  Overall, the movie was excellent.  Its an honest and revealing look at a celebrity who was an intensely private person.  Some moments, you just sit there thinking wow, is this really Michael Douglas?  Liberace felt the need to spend his life in the closet for fear his fans would not understand that he was gay, it's an all too familiar problem in the world of celebrity, even to this day.  The movie was also an interesting look at how celebrities and the wealthy have this need to control those around them and when they are done with you, your kicked to the curb lucky to get any of your personal belongings.  They tend to feel that being in their presence is enough, what more does someone need they think.  Its a warped world that is easy to get sucked into.  If you did not catch the movie, try and see it - I am sure HBO will replay it several times.  I use to have a cool collection of Liberace memorabilia, but unfortunately it was stolen by a band of Gypsy's, tramps, thieves and douche bags, but that's a story for when the book comes out...

We all had a nice time tonight....  Friends and family coming tonight is always fun and a huge thank you to Carlo who coordinated everything, right down to the vegan food & Birthday cake for a party guest!  Who would have thought we could have vegan pigs in a blanket??

There is a lot more come soon...  The closure I need is getting close at hand.  An entire new beginning and adventures for myself, and Carlo!  Who knows what tomorrow will bring?

And in the words of Liberace, "Too much of a good thing is wonderful!!"
